Xiaomi has launched the Mi Box 4S Pro in China, a new streaming device coming with 8K video decoding support. The streaming box is priced at 399 Chinese yuan (about Rs 4,500) and will be available only in China at the moment. The company is currently silent on its plan to launch it in other global markets including India. The Mi Box 4S Pro is an upgrade to the Mi Box 4K launched in India earlier this year. It was launched in India at a price of Rs 3,499.
Mi Box 4S Pro price vs competition
The Mi Box 4S Pro, priced at 399 Chinese (about Rs 4,500), is more expensive than the Mi Box 4K in India but is also equipped with some better features. The new streaming device supports 8K video decoding, which gives it an edge over competing devices such as Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and Apple TV 4K.

Mi Box 4S Pro specifications and features
The main specification of Mi Box 4S Pro is 8K video decoding, which is not currently available on any other popular streaming device. While it is unclear exactly how this will work for the moment, it is quite likely that the Mi Box 4S Pro will be able to provide playback support of locally available 8K video content on a supported television. Currently, not all major streaming services offer streaming content in 8K resolution, so this feature has no major role. Mi Box 4S Pro runs MIUI for the TV operating system and comes with 2 GB RAM + 16 GB internal storage.
